On April 20, 2008 Welwind Energy International held an opening ceremony for its Yangxi Windfarm Corporate Office. In attendance were staff and local officials. Despite torrential rain and hurricane force winds, all welcomed the company’s new presence in the Yangxi Area. “We are pleased with the official launch of our office in Yangxi and have received a warm welcome from the local business community. Our core group of staff at this location are working diligently towards the establishment of the community’s first wind farm.” says Tammy Lynn McNabb.
Currently on site at the Windfarm an 80 foot meteorological tower continues to collect favorable data indicating a location for a viable wind farm. This July 2008 will mark the three year anniversary date of collecting data. The data to date has been used to conduct a wind feasibility study and wind farm layout design.
